SUMMARY
 

The Operations Maintenance Coordinator (OMC) ensures the accurate and timely maintenance of operational assets by the approval and screening of work requests and development of maintenance work schedules to meet asset reliability requirements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Screen work requests to determine validity, urgency, and general scope and approve/revise/reject as appropriate.  Also write work requests as needed.
  • Identify, escalate, and continuously track any urgent work requests to ensure timely completion including threats to safety, environment, and production.
  • Keep up to date on all open maintenance work orders to develop planning priorities, weekly maintenance schedule, and track the progress of critical work orders including critical PMs and threats to safety and production.
  • Determine if and when equipment can be safely shut down and locked out to perform work, and communicate upcoming work scope to production supervisors for proper preparation.
  • Responsible for Preventive Maintenance and Inspection compliance
  • Work with maintenance, engineering and operations to troubleshoot equipment
  • Determine priority and scope of work orders to be completed during short planned outages
  • Responsible for management of element inventory/workflow from repair to assembly
  • Back-up for chlorine cell program specialist responsible for management of outside element repair services

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma required
  • 5 Years Operational Experience and/or Maintenance Experience preferred
  • Technical Experience developed from work experience
  • Experience with SAP or similar program preferred
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Understanding of complex processing requirements of chemical plants
  • Good understanding of mechanical processes and technology
  • Knowledge of welding procedures a plus
  • Good Excel Spreadsheet skills
  • Successful candidates must satisfy background screening, including motor vehicle record screening, drug testing & pre-employment physical requirements before starting work.
  • A current, valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card is required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office.  Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.  May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators.  Travel including air travel or auto travel may occasionally be required.
