Specialist - Maintenance Refrigeration
Job Description
SUMMARY
The Maintenance Refrigeration Specialist role serves as the overall coordinator for Mechanical Reliability. This role is responsible for safely managing Refrigeration equipment meeting schedule and budget constraints while adhering to all regulatory requirements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Support and drive accident prevention and environmental excellence.
- Ensure all activities are conducted in a safe and environmentally sound manner while adhering to all company policies and procedures.
- Serve as overall Reliability and Mechanical Integrity manager for Refrigeration equipment
- Create and maintain equipment records and assignment events
- Track rotating equipment run time
- Manage Inspection Work Orders and task compliance
- Direct Failure Analysis efforts, including 5-Why or RCA activities
- Implement Reliability improvement projects
- Manage Predictive Maintenance Monitoring and Corrections:
- Vibration Monitoring & Analysis
- Electric Motor Lubrication program
- Lube Oil Sampling & Analysis program
- Review and Manage Meridium & Enablon Action Items
- Project management
- New Equipment and repairs specification, bidding process, and procurement
- Function as the Outage and TAR Coordinator for Refrigeration and Steam Trap Groups
- Maintain PM scheduling forecasts
- Assist RG-ST Maintenance Planner with TAR group tasks and scheduling
- Serve as RG-ST Quality Control source
- Provide mechanical technical resources and guidance for Refrigeration and Steam Trap Groups
- Support the Complex Shops Safety Team improvement initiatives
- MOC Compliance
- Assist with revisions of SOP's, SMP's, Startup Checklists, P&IDs, equipment drawings
- Follow and support Work Management Process
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 5 years of Refrigeration Maintenance or engineering qualification Diploma/Degree in the appropriate discipline desirable
- Type II or Universal Refrigerant Recovery and Transfer EPA Certification desirable
- Previous experience in industrial plant operations with knowledge of maintenance, planning and scheduling requirements
- Experience with MS Office and experience with SAP preferred or similar program. Ability to communicate effectively with Production, Maintenance/Scheduling and Engineering department, managers, supervisors and crafts persons
- Successful candidates must satisfy background screening, including motor vehicle record screening, drug testing & pre-employment physical requirements before starting work.
- A current, valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators. Travel including air travel or auto travel may occasionally be required.
