JOB SUMMARY 
 

The Human Resources Clerk is responsible for the day to day administration of the human resources function. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Comply with Westlake Safety Policies and Procedures  

  • Regular attendance, timeliness and scheduling flexibility 

  • Provide human resource assistance for all employees with general questions regarding company policy 

  • Assist with screening and recruiting for open positions working with other members for the HR team to fill all vacancies 

  • Provide human resource administration including but not limited to employment verifications, scanning of employment documents as well as supporting other HR functions 

  • Administer orientations for all new hires for multiple plants and safety new hire orientation as needed 

  • Track and maintain training records for all associates 

  • Liaise between employees and other department for any benefit or pay related questions 

  • All other duties as requested or assigned 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES  

 

  • Strong computer literacy: Word, Excel, & PowerPoint 

  • Bilingual: Spanish preferred 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human resources or related field preferred 

  • 2 - 3 years of HR/Recruitment experience 

  • 2 years general HR experience 

 

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT 

 

The employee should possess the ability to: 

 

  • Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that maybe uncomfortable 

  • Withstand exposure to temperature extremes inside or out  

  • Prolong standing or in stationary position  

  • Complete repetitive movements 

  • Bend and/or twist  

  • Lift/move/transport items up to 50 pounds 

  • Ability to move or traverse about the facilities 

  • Ability to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental conditions 

  • Wear all required personal protective equipment (hearing, vision and hardhat protection) 

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US markets. The base pay range for this position is $24 to $26. This range is based on relevant market data in our lowest and highest geographic markets. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, experience and skillset. Westlake is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, sign on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package (also to include a full range of medical and other benefits).
