Job Description

The Distribution Superintendent manages and coordinates the scheduling, shipping, inventory, costs and transferring of raw materials and manufactured products for the Monomers and PVC Production facilities. The Distribution Superintendent performs the primary thinking encompassed by this job description, complies with all Company policies and procedures and fully supports Company goals of continuous improvement and operational excellence at strategic and tactical levels including reviewing area of responsibility for improvement opportunities to initiate projects or communicate ideas to management as well as active participation on project teams.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinates the transportation and distribution activities of the Monomers Production facilities.
  • Coordinates the delivery of raw materials and manages supply agreements necessary for optimum plant production.
  • Directs the scheduling of shipping orders in conjunction with plant production requirements.
  • Coordinates the Plant's inventory control system to maintain adequate inventory at optimum level to meet schedules.
  • Secures transportation services on a timely and economical basis for transfer of Company's products.
  • Manages and ensures procedures to enable timely customer shipments.
  • Interacts with customers on quality issues and strives to resolve issues promptly.
  • Reviews production schedule plans and planned maintenance interruptions to meet customer product requirements.
  • Administers system to track and audit invoices and interacts with appropriate individuals to resolve discrepancies.
  • Assist in preparation of annual budget and operating reports.
  • Maintains open communication avenues with Federal and State agencies relating to transportation requirements.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of Federal and State regulations which potentially impact the Company's ability to function properly.
  • Complete duties relative to the Facility Vessel Security Officer (1st Alternate).
  • Interact with CHEMTREC and/or CHLOREP Response Team as 1st contact and home coordinator.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.S. Degree in Engineering related field, Business Administration preferred, or equivalent transportation and distribution experience. 
  • Knowledge of transportation and distribution regulations, tariffs, contract negotiations and normal position requirements. 
  • Ten years progressive experience in traffic and distribution work.
