Job Description


Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the electrician will be responsible to participate in a team environment and undertake the tasks associated with maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair electrical and electronic control systems.


May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Responsible for tooling and maintenance inspections, including over hauling of all sheet die, cut off die and preparing proper tools for production.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices.
  • Maintain, repair, test and install all fans, blowers, electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries, hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems.
  • DC drive inspection and maintenance.
  • Interpret all mechanical and electrical schematics.
  • Install, examine replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fibre-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components for continuity, current, voltage resistance.
  • Properly uses all hand, power tools and all precisions measuring equipment.
  • Maintain conveyor system, all compressors and pumps.
  • Perform welding and soldering operations.
  • Install and maintain pipe systems and valves.
  • Read and interpret drawings, blue prints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records.
  • May install, maintain and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices.
  • Ensure that all shop equipment is kept clean and in safe working order.
  • "Call in" duty as per schedule.
  • Responsible for General Maintenance.      
  • Maintain safety and environmental regulations and plant operability as top priorities as maintenance duties take place.


  • Must hold a valid industrial electrical/mechanic certificate.  Millwright certification an asset.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of calipers and other measuring devices.
  • Must have knowledge of computer skills using MS Office products.
