Finishing Line Associate

Reports To:  Supervisor-Production Planning

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position is primarily responsible for assisting the Finishing Line Lead in the day-to- day running of the Finishing Line Department, involving the constant monitoring and possible adjusting of the department using information and guidance from the Finishing Line Lead

by performing the following duties:

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assists the Finishing Line Lead with the daily execution of the Finishing Line production.

  • Assists in the implementation of the daily departmental production schedule given by the Supervisor-Production Planning

  • Oversees the pulling of component product for the assembly of completed product.

  • Coordinates with the Forklift Drivers the timing of the delivery of the component products.

  • Assists the Finishing Line Lead with labor needs, involving the organization and usage of temporary labor, in addition to vacation coverage and overtime implementation.

  • Sets the Finishing Line up for production, including the setting of line parameters across different machines.

  • Upon need, sets up for the implementation of the High-Pressure Low Volume (HPLV) system.

  • Monitors the accurate and timely assembly of product throughout the department, documenting settings of machines according to established set-points.

  • Reports to the Finishing Line Lead any product quality issues that are evident by visual.

  • Provides daily production numbers to Finishing Line Lead, both of completed product and usage of component product.

  • Assists the Finishing Line Lead with the documentation of completed production within the company communications and inventory-control software.

  • Reports to the Finishing Line Lead any identified conflicts or risks that may compromise the daily departmental production schedule.

  • Cuts and labels turret bundles.

  • Assists with monthly inventory.

  • Maintains a safe and highly organized work area.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by Finishing Line Lead and/or member of Management.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to write routine reports and simple correspondence.

Ability to communicate effectively.

Fluency in Spanish helpful, but not required.

SPECIALIZED EQUIPMENT:

Forklift:  move pallets of production / inventory as needed:  up to 10 hours a week.

Electric Pallet Jack:  move pallets of production / inventory as needed:  up to 10 hours a week.

HVLP (high volume, low pressure) Spray System:  administers spray application within department production:  up to eight (8) hours week.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Spreadsheet Software (Excel); and Word Processing Software (Word).

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or

move up to 50 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision

and peripheral vision.

Notes:

Climb or balance:  assisting with monthly inventory.

Lifting 10, 25, and 50 lbs:  assisting with pallet collation and/or monthly inventory.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical

parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; outside weather

conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat.
