Job Description

SUMMARY

Plans, prepares, and schedules maintenance activities using SAP for all equipment in the assigned area and recommends standard work procedures for repair jobs to ensure safe and efficient execution.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Plans work orders, recommends and prepares materials, services, tools and equipment for planned and emergency related maintenance or repairs in area of assignment.
  • Recommends and specifies standard work procedures for major and routine equipment repair.
  • Coordinates priorities and sets maintenance work schedules for turnarounds and/or work areas.
  • Manages equipment numbers and manages BOM’s for equipment revisions and installations.
  • Prepares and monitors work plans to reduce downtime and optimize job performance.
  • Directs the completion of Mechanical Integrity Action items.
  • Contacts manufacturers for parts information, technical data and equipment specifications.
  • Contacts Buyers and Blanket vendors for expediting and purchasing materials.
  • Contacts contractors and outside shops for repair work and services as needed.
  • Performs special projects as assigned, including Capital Projects.
  • Co-ordinates work efforts with other unit planners as needed.  
  • Provides backup for Maintenance Supervisors as required.
  • Provide direct supervision to contractor personnel.
  • Attend training sessions as per schedule.
  • Perform duties in a manner that protects personal safety as well as the safety of all personnel on-site.  Whenever appropriate, promptly report Safety, Health or Environmental incidents or issues to management so the situation can be corrected.  Attend Monthly Safety Meetings to help prevent off site and job accidents.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.S. Degree or equivalent Instrument/Electrical Maintenance experience, preferably in the chemical industry.
  • Well-rounded knowledge of electrical and instrumentation maintenance.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, climb, kneel, squat/bend, push/pull; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.  

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is sometimes moderate when working inside, however, some of the work may be required in the operating units which mandates usage of required PPE and safety equipment including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.  May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs.  Travel may occasionally be required.
