SUMMARY

This position will have the responsibility for organizing and planning inspections for mechanical equipment and assets, ensuring that they are assessed, maintained, and monitored according to relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements. This role involves evaluating equipment conditions, identifying potential risks, and recommending maintenance and inspection strategies to mitigate those risks.   In addition, this role also involves creating inspection schedules, coordinating inspection teams, and ensuring all inspections are conducted efficiently and accurately.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Review equipment records and maintenance history to identify inspection requirements.

  • Apply risk-based inspection methodologies to prioritize equipment based on potential risks and consequences of failure utilizing RBI software in accordance with site procedures.

  • Evaluate corrosion, erosion, fatigue, and other damage mechanisms to determine the likelihood and consequences of failure.

  • Develop comprehensive inspection plans for mechanical equipment based on risk assessments and industry best practices.

  • Define the scope, methods, and frequencies of inspections for various equipment types.

  • Ensure that all inspections and maintenance activities adhere to relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations.

  • Review inspection reports and documentation for compliance and decision-making.

  • Provide recommendations for repairs, replacements, or alterations to ensure equipment integrity and safety.

  • Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to analyze inspection results and develop scope to implement recommendations.

  • Enter notifications for inspection recommendations and track completion.

  • Maintain detailed records of inspection results, maintenance activities, and equipment history including any anomalies discovered during inspection activities.

  • Assist in tracking and reporting key measures of fixed equipment monitoring programs.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

* Successful candidates must satisfy background screening, including motor vehicle record screening, drug testing & pre-employment physical requirements before starting work.

* A current, valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card is required.

* High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.

* 5-7 years minimum inspection experience including NDE of refining or petrochemical industry fixed assets.

* API 580 Certification preferred.

* Certification in one or more of the following:

? API 510, American Petroleum Institute, Pressure Vessel Inspection Code

? API 570, American Petroleum Institute, Piping Inspection Code.

? API 653, American Petroleum Institute, Tank Inspection, Repair, Alteration, and Reconstruction

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25

pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators. Inside exposure includes but not limited to A/C 60% of the time. Outside exposure includes but not limited to weather, fumes, and dust 40% of the time. May be exposed to slippery, rocky, uneven surface of floor/ground.
