SUMMARY

Setup and operate all plant equipment and monitor operations for productivity, safety, maintenance requirements and product quality.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Must be proficient is setup and operation of extruders, including sheet line, as well as paint department, blending, and secondary finishing and packaging operations.
  • Monitor operations for productivity, safety, maintenance requirements and product quality.
  • Will be involved on test runs and tuning of new dies, materials, and profiles.
  • Consistently identify problems, make responsible assessments and take decisive actions in a constructive and safe manner.
  • Maintain records of setups and procedures.
  • Must possess excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Responsible for and ability to do all necessary paperwork.
  • Ability to work well without constant supervision.
  • Keep work area clean and orderly.
  • Maintain level of quality consistent with established standards.
  • Comply with established safety rules.
  • Comply with company policy and procedures.
  • Maintain constructive working relationships with co-workers, leads, supervisors, and managers.
  • Maintain regular attendance in accordance with company policy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to the satisfaction of supervisor.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education/Knowledge

High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to four years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience

Five plus years’ experience in proficiently setting up and operating plant equipment.

  • Skills

Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Communication

Communicate in writing and orally with supervisor/manager, lead, and other employees. Carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
