DESCRIPTION 

The Maintenance Superintendent is responsible for planning, supervising, and coordinating maintenance operations to provide timely and cost-effective maintenance services for the Site, and ensuring that all work performed by team members are in accordance with our safety standards, general policies and objectives outlined by the Plant Manager. *Must be currently residing in or near the Greencastle, PA area.*

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES 

May include, but is not limited to the following: 

  • Responsible for Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic, PM Scheduling/Servicing of all plant machinery 

  • Responsible for managing the schedule of department personnel and the efficient maintenance upkeep of production Machinery and Equipment 

  • Manage problems within the facility, utilities, building & grounds 

  • Arranges and coordinates annual fire inspections with the local fire department  

  • Directs the maintenance of the facility’s Equipment, Auxiliary Equipment, Support Equipment, Electrical, Mechanical, Compressed Gas, Compressed Air, Cooling Water, Refrigeration systems, Rental equipment etc.to provide uninterrupted services of the facility operations 

  • Arranges and coordinates internal safety inspections to meet OSHA, ANSI, DEP, Insurance Carrier, Local, County, State, Federal and any other regulations pertinent to the overall SAFETY of the facility personnel and surrounding areas.  

  • Follows up on deficiencies and recommendations. (Works closely with the EH&S) 

  • Provides staff training in a variety of safety and maintenance topics including (but not limited to the following): LOTO, Fall Protection, Proper PPE, PM’s, TPM, the effective utilization of maintenance logs, completion of routine maintenance tasks specific to the facility, equipment operations, LEAN Manufacturing tools & processes and so forth, with a Continuous Improvement mindset 

  • Develops, schedules, and controls a preventive maintenance program to maintain Production Machinery and Support Equipment/Systems in proper working condition 

  • Inspects jobs in process and at the completion to ensure that standards of workmanship and safety are maintained 

  • Maintains inventories of maintenance materials, supplies, and repair parts at required (determined) levels by initiating requisitions for purchase 

  • Coordinates the plant-wide communication and completion of corrective & preventive maintenance in accordance with operating procedures, practices, and financial considerations.  

  • Establishes procedures & contacts to ensure timely repairs  

  • Participates in annual budget preparation as it relates to safety, maintenance, and personnel 

  • Implements capital projects to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs 

  • Serves as a member of other committees as thought to be necessary by this individual, and/or assigned by their manager 

  • Travel to Suppliers, Company owned facilities and "Others" will be necessary from time to time 

  • Ensures Maintenance Personnel are always available while the plant operates to maintain efficient operations.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree preferably or equivalent work experience 

  • 5 years of experience in similar position 

  • Proven leader, trainer, and cross-functional management & technical skills 

  • Must possess knowledge of ERP System and Infor -PM/Asset Management System (EAM)  

  • Proficient in Microsoft suite 

  • Knowledge of OSHA, ANSI and EPA regulations 

  • Preferably bilingual in English and Spanish

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

The employee should possess the ability to:

  • Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that maybe uncomfortable
  • Withstand exposure to temperature extremes inside or out
  • Prolong standing or in stationary position
  • Complete repetitive movements
  • Bend and/or twist
  • Lift/move/transport items up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to move or traverse about the facilities
  • Ability to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental conditions
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment (hearing, vision and hardhat protection)
