SUMMARY

Westlake is offering an opportunity to apply your experience and skills as a Maintenance Engineer based in Deer Park, Texas. This position concentrates on coordinating Westlake Crafts and Service Contractors performing maintenance and repairs at the Deer Park plant site.  All activities are developed for the safe, efficient and environmentally sound repairs of the equipment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Coordinating maintenance related contract services for PM and corrective maintenance work orders utilizing the SAP PM system
  • Documenting and tracking craft training plans.
  • Support predictive and preventive maintenance inspections
  • Qualify and manage contractors according to Westlake's Contractor policies.
  • Provide vacation relief for Maintenance Staff
  • Participate in weekend duty rotation with other maintenance team members.
  • Requisition needed service work.
  • Manages contractors working on blanket purchase orders.
  • Review service jobs, resourcing P&ID's, Pipe & Valve Specifications, equipment database, current safety procedures and all other necessary resources.
  • Requisition and plan jobs using the SAP system; work with operations to schedule and permit, manage contractors and review jobs for completeness.
  • Acquire bids for all needed contractor services and process invoices
  • Update equipment database, spare parts and Bill of Materials information as required.
  • Work closely with operations/maintenance coordinator, operations supervision and maintenance planner on prioritizing and scheduling work
  • Reviewing the work management system on a periodic basis.
  • Updating work management system processes as required.
  • Closes associated completed work orders in SAP, including hours on specified task, and any necessary notes.
  • Examples of specific services and contract maintenance include but are not limited to the following: painting, insulation, scaffolding, mobile equipment, rental equipment, fire/'sprinkler systems
  • Track and file shop reports.
  • Lead outside shop audits and track the performance.
  • Support budget development processes.
  • Track Maintenance spend on assigned equipment.
  • Develops and track key maintenance metrics.
  • Utilize SAP for PM development.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering required
  • Minimum eight years’ experience with an aptitude for mechanical equipment.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written, good planning and organizational skills are required
  • Familiarity with maintenance planning and scheduling are required
  • Proficiency with Windows based software (specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint) is required
  • Experience with SAP is preferred
  • Ability to work independently to resolve issues or problems on a day-to-day basis
  • Willingness and able to obtain current, valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card is required

The employee must be able to work in the plant environments where noise, dust, material handling equipment, and machinery will be present.  Employee must be able to climb ladders and will be required to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment applicable for the tasks they will be asked to perform.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Employee may be required to travel less than 5% of the time.
