JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the manual and clerical duties related to the preparation and shipment of customer samples, components and finished products mailed primarily through Fed Ex, UPS, USPS or another similar carrier.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Comply with Company Safety Policies and Procedures
  • Support production schedules, orders, requests for materials or other stock items in order of priority, due date, and material availability
  • Ensures the accuracy of all receiving documents and gathers and matches forms (PO, packing slip, computer printout) relative to receiving activities
  • Assures that receiving counts match purchase orders and packing slips documents and assists in resolving any discrepancies
  • Files all receiving paperwork in PO sequence
  • Verifies (recounts) orders to ensure accuracy of incoming merchandise
  • Place incoming merchandise into inventory. Assist with yearly Physical Inventory
  • Perform internal and some external expediting
  • Loads and unloads materials onto or from trucks by forklift as required
  • Scheduling all truck loads and LTL pick up/delivery schedules and coordination of all truck loads/damage claims
  • Preparing work schedule and expediting workflow, while maintaining facility compliance with standard safety procedures
  • Ensuring the efficient and safe operation of all material handling equipment
  • Initiating contact with vendors to research favorable freight rates, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring quality service. Be involved in routine cycle count and yearly inventor
  • Other duties as requested
  • Regular attendance, timeliness, and scheduling flexibility 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Must be able to read and interpret documents such as purchase orders and shipping information
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
  • Proficient in the use of a computer
  • Forklift experience required
  • Must have good communication skills
  • Embrace teamwork
  • Self-starter, motivated, versatile
  • Ability to be Proficient in Microsoft Office suite within 12 months

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

The employee should have the following:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and training or certification in relevant skill or trade preferred 
  • 1 - 2 years' experience in a relevant field

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

The employee should possess the ability to:

  • Work in a fast-paced warehouse manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to work standing for up to 8-12 hours/shift.
  • Must be able to kneel, squat, bend/twist at the waist, and stack parts at or above head height
  • Must have full range of motion (ROM) of shoulders, knees, hips, elbows, wrists, and hands to perform all basic functions of the job
  • Must be able to wear compliant ear protection if and when, working in areas exposed to noise levels above OSHA threshold limits
  • Must be able to work in hot and cold environments that can range from 30F-100F in the warehouse depending on the season
  • Must be able to complete repetitive movements
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment (Safety toe shoes, ANSI Z87 eye protection, CR gloves, Hard Hats)
  • Lift/move/transport items up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to wear a safety harness that is compliant with OSHA standards when working at heights
  • Must be able to work at heights to pull material from our order pickers. (Up to 15’)
  • Must report to management if prescribed medication that could adversely affect the safe operation of Powered Industrial Vehicles such as forklifts, order pickers, Big Joe
  • Ability to move or traverse about the facilities
  • Ability to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental conditions
