Senior Paralegal
Job Description
Summary:
Serves as a key member of the legal team, primarily supporting contract and commercial matters and post-acquisition projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing, revising, proofing and managing company legal documents, including contracts, exhibits and schedules to agreements, certifications, etc. for Westlake companies.
- Review, maintenance and organization of electronic and physical documents including but not limited to contracts.
- Maintenance and organization of contract database.
- Assist with due diligence and closing activities of transactions.
- Assist with various projects as necessary.
- Fully supports Company goals of continuous improvement, including reviewing area of responsibility for improvement opportunities as well as active participation on project teams.
- Work as part of the department team, including assisting and providing back-up for other members of the department as needed.
- The successful candidate will possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, a team-oriented mindset and strong work ethic; and the ability to multitask. Efficiency and accuracy are extremely important.
Experience:
- High school Diploma and paralegal certification required. Additional college or business school preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience working with lawyers, preferably in major law firm or in a corporation.
- Must be proficient with computer software, primarily Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with matter management portal (e.g., Serengeti/Legal Tracker), and contract database systems is strongly preferred.
- Experience with DocuSign and Salesforce.
