SUMMARY

Responsible for transfer and storage of finished product as well as loading product for shipment to customers.  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Maintains a safe working environment for employees, customers & carriers.
  • Load outbound shipments safely and accurately onto flatbed trailers for shipment.
  • Unload inbound shipments safely
  • Responsible for safe and proper product storage
  • Completes paperwork and reports as needed
  • Assists in inventory tracking
  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures
  • Certified as a Forklift Operator with a proven record to safe operation
  • Uses a variety of tools and instruments to asses, inspect and move product
  • Must maintain area to be clean and free from safety hazards
  • Enter material weights and move product into DSI and Telnet
  • Complete paperwork as required by properly documenting all inventory transitions
  • Safely operates powered industrial truck to move product
  • This position is responsible for the care, inspection and routine maintenance of his or her lift
  • The lift truck operators check list should be completed before the beginning of the shift and prior to use and entered in the Keytroller program on the lift
  • May relieve employees for meal breaks
  • Must be able to read a tape measure
  • All other duties as assigned

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires a High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; climb or balance; and talk or hear.  The employee frequently is required to perform repetitive bending, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.  The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat.  The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.  The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US markets. The base pay range for this position is $22.73-$29.16. This range is based on relevant market data in our lowest and highest geographic markets. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, experience and skillset. Westlake is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, sign on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package (also to include a full range of medical and other benefits).
