Supervisor-Maintenance
Job Description
SUMMARY
The purpose of this role is to ensure the execution of the daily maintenance activities in support of the business objectives with zero safety or environmental incidents. The Maintenance Supervisor enables individual development through apprenticeships, training and provides performance feedback of company maintenance craft technicians. They are responsible for the development of the maintenance technicians as a team in alignment with company values and production objectives. This position acts as a visible role model in the production and maintenance organizations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Support and drive accident prevention and environmental excellence.
- Ensure all activities are conducted in a safe and environmentally sound manner while adhering to all company policies and procedures.
- Pro-actively co-manages the operations maintenance controllable budget.
- Promote quality job execution and scheduling adherence.
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) for equipment: repair, technical specifications, job safety/ environmental requirements, and Execution workflow process.
- Insure Work Order technical information is complete for work execution.
- Create or edit Task lists when applicable for repetitive work.
- Identify Bill of Materials updates and corrections to Planner.
- Verify that all operations that were completed have been correctly confirmed and identified as complete in SAP.
- Provide feedback to planner of any information that was not correctly identified in the job plan.
- Work with OMC and Planner to remove any backlog work that needs to be canceled and removed from backlog.
- Receive prioritized schedule back from Planner.
- Provide accurate work center capacities.
- Participate in schedule review with OMC, and Planner for final input of revisions for next week’s schedule.
- Confirm finalized schedule for next week.
- All changes after final schedule will be handled as break-ins.
- Assign planned work orders/packages to maintenance crafts.
- Assign emergency/break-in work to maintenance crafts.
- Determine scope changes to all work and communicate to OMC and Planner.
- Verify kitted materials are used or returned to Warehouse.
- Review Orders to ensure all proper documentation and history has been filled out.
- Ensure all operations have been completed and confirmed.
- Technically complete Work Orders after all time has been charged and information has been confirmed in SAP
- Follow and support Work Management Process
- Field oversite of Contractors executing routine Maintenance overload work
- Support Turnaround Work Process Planning and Execution
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Technical experience developed through maintenance career path with ten to fifteen year experience preferred.
- Previous experience in petrochemicals plant operations.
- Knowledge of maintenance, planning and scheduling requirements for petrochemical equipment.
- Experience with, word processing, spreadsheets, SAP.
- Understanding of mechanical, electrical and control processes and technology.
- Evaluate equipment performance and identify bad actors.
- Able to develop, lead and support a team of craft persons.
- Insure crafts respond and perform to company requirements of incident free, accident free safe workplace.
- Communicate effectively with Production, Maintenance/Scheduling and Engineering department, managers, supervisors and crafts persons.
- Work on own initiative and constantly seek to improve techniques.
- Lead effective maintenance team and effective conflict resolution skills.
- Successful candidates must satisfy background screening, including motor vehicle record screening, drug testing & pre-employment physical requirements before starting work.
- A current, valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators. Travel including air travel or auto travel may occasionally be required.
