Summary: Repair and building of highest quality complex tooling with direction from Mold maker in most efficient time. Must have willing attitude.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of the MACHINE SHOP APPRENTICE is to perform top-quality operational duties safely and efficiently daily which include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Must be able to follow all safety rules and procedures in a manufacturing environment.
- Must have basic knowledge of manual lathes, mills, grinders.
- Must be able to follow instructions both written and verbal.
- Must be capable of starting and completing projects.
- Must have mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Must be able to work alone and with others.
- Any other duties as assigned by supervision or management.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Qualifications: Willing to enroll, currently enrolled or have completed machine shop or tool and die program from an accredited vocational school.
Education and/or Experience: High School diploma or GED required. Machine shop or tool and die school preferred.
Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend sufficient English to follow work instructions. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings a plus.
Mathematical Skills: Basic mathematical skills required. Basic understanding of engineering drawings/tolerances a plus.
Reasoning Ability: Must be able to handle stress of holding close tolerances and meeting schedules, mentally alert, safety conscious, communicate verbally well with others, receive, and follow instructions and get along well with others.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Ability to earn and keep a forklift license.
