Forklift Operator (Finished Goods) - Warehouse Dept

SUMMARY

Reporting to the Warehouse Department, this position is responsible for the Safe and Efficient operation of the forklift assigned to the Warehouse area.

MUST BE ABLE TO WORK 12 HOUR CONTINENTAL SHIFT

Rate of pay: $24.25/hr

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

•               Perform a pre-inspection prior to using forklifts at shift start and fill in the pre-inspection checklist, reporting any observed fault or abnormality to the shift supervisor or lead hand.

•               Fill in Forklift key in/out log sheet when keys are taken for use or returned after use.

•               Move blue beds loaded with finished goods from pick & place gantry (Line Robot) to designated warehouse location for storage.

•               Ensure blue beds loaded with finished goods have two crossbars before they are moved to the warehouse.

•               Place empty blue beds on pick & place gantry transfer conveyor bed.

•               Inspect blue beds for faults and mechanical defects prior to placing them on pick & place gantry transfer conveyor bed.

•               Supply production lines with all packaging supplies when needed, including packing boxes loaded on orange beds and skids.

•               Remove orange beds and skids from the production lines when empty or during a product change.

•               Follow all HSE forklift safety policy, rules, and regulations always and report incidents when they occur.

•               Use the manual glue machine to close any box with an open flap on a blue bed prior to moving to the warehouse.

•               Inspect the manual glue machine prior to use at shift start, reporting any faults or abnormality observed, to the supervisor or lead hand.

•               Provide supplies for WIP products such as DOCP to production when needed and move the finished product to the designated location in the warehouse.

•               Always adhere to all company policies and procedures.

•               Ensure blue beds and cross bars are readily available for the pick & place gantry for all operational lines.

•               Perform task in other areas of warehouse when required.

•               Ensure blue bed storage area on the production floor is neatly organized.

•               Follow all warehouse safety and operational procedures.

•               Perform all other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

•               Must have completed Grade 12 or equivalent

•               Previous manufacturing experience is an asset but not a requirement

•               Forklift certification acquired through Company sponsored training program

•               Demonstrates ability to operate machinery safely and efficiently

•               Ability to complete reports accurately and legibly

•               Good communication skills

•               Team player, strong interpersonal skills
