Here you’ll find information on our hiring process, tips on interviewing, and how to identify recruitment fraud.
When it comes to our hiring process, we want candidates to feel informed and supported. And while timelines from initial application to offer letter do vary based on role and location, here’s what you can expect when applying to Westlake.
When it’s time for your phone or video interview, here are a few tips that can help you make the right first impression. And if you want more advice on competency/behavioral interviews, check out these tips
PREP YOUR ENVIRONMENT
Choose a quiet and comfortable place to take the call that’s free of disruptive background noise.
TEST YOUR EQUIPMENT
Ensure your phone is charged and has good reception. If you're using a headset or speakerphone, test them beforehand.

GATHER YOUR MATERIALS
Keep a copy of your resume, the job description, and any notes you've made about the company or position nearby.
PRACTICE YOUR ANSWERS
Think about common interview questions and have your answers ready, but avoid sounding rehearsed.
SPEAK CLEARLY AND SLOWLY
Remember to enunciate your words and speak at a measured pace.
LISTEN
CAREFULLY
Listen closely to the interviewer's questions and comments and try not to interrupt.

BE
PROFESSIONAL
Tone and enthusiasm can make a strong impression, so even though this is a phone or video interview, act as if you’re meeting face-to-face. You got this!
Recently, individuals and/or organizations have been impersonating Westlake employees or representatives by reaching out to potential job seekers. These ‘recruiting’ communications are scams and are NOT associated with Westlake’s recruitment process. Please do not provide any personal or financial information and do not send any money to anyone you do not know or whom you suspect of recruitment fraud.
