Glass Dropper
SUMMARY
The Glass Dropper is responsible for installing the glass to the window frame. This role does have lifting and works in a fast-paced environment. The Glass Dropper conducts accurate field measuring according to specified dimensions and patterns.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Comply with Westlake Safety Policies
Regular attendance, timeliness and scheduling flexibility
Maintain a count of the number of pieces of glass placed on the rack
Place the glass in the proper orientation onto racks
Regular attendance, timeliness and scheduling flexibility
Setting glass in windows
Inspect glass for any defects
Inspect all glass and clean thoroughly before installation
Communicate with shift supervisors, and other line support regarding glass issues
Turn in completed orders on time
Process work orders and procedures
Perform other duties and responsibilities requested by the supervisor
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or the equivalent.
Prior experience managing glass is a Plus
Must be able to understand verbal and written instructions.
Spanish is a Plus
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Prolong standing for up to 12 hours performing shift work or in a stationary position.
Bend or twist.
Complete repetitive movements.
Handle, control or feel objects, tools, or controls.
Lift/move up to 50 pounds.
Remove or replace items up to 50 pounds.
Ascend or descend stairs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Be exposed to temperature extremes inside or out.
Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that may be uncomfortable.
Wear all the required personal protective equipment.
Work in constant noise above 85 decibels.
