SUMMARY
The Human Resources Business Partner is responsible for coordinating and supporting the human resources activities for the Houston, TX Windows manufacturing facility. This position will build positive relationships within the groups and is the liaison with leaders. Activities include resolving employee issues, communicating corporate policies and procedures, Payroll administration, compensation related activities, recruiting, providing training and educational programs; supporting management through the performance management processes, counseling with managers/supervisors on significant discipline and termination decisions for employees.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May include, but are not limited to, the following:
Counsel managers, supervisors and employees on various human resources activities to include policies and procedures, benefit plans, job-related concerns and issues, interpersonal relationships with peers and supervisors.
Administers activities related to employment practices. Work closely with the Westlake recruiting team to recruit, screen, interview, and hire employees.
Advises managers and supervisors with employee relations issues, complaints and terminations. Ensures progressive discipline policies are administered fairly and consistently.
Responsible for payroll management and accurate recording and data entry of employee information in HRIS (Workday).
Prepare employees for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs for employees.
Coordinate and support employee engagement activities, recognition programs, and site events that promote teamwork, inclusion, and positive employee experience.
Coordinates and participates in human resources related training.
Oversee the administration of compensation, benefits, vacation, sick leave, absence programs for employees.
Participates in compensation surveys, job evaluations, promotions or adjustments in conjunction with Total Rewards.
Responsible for administrative duties including invoice coding and processing, bulletin board maintenance, maintaining files and assisting with events.
Any additional duties and tasks as required.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Relations, Labor Relations, Human Resources, Business Administration or related field. SHRM or HRCI certified professional a plus.
5 years progressive HR experience. 3+ years’ experience in a generalist/functional role with exposure to compensation, performance management, training.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work at all levels within the organization
Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize work
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Good oral and written communication skills
Able to work independently, and coordinate with colleagues in multiple locations
Ability to maintain confidentiality, high level of attention to detail and adaptability to changing business requirements
Strong computer skills, MS office products, Workday knowledge a plus
Bi-Lingual (Spanish) required. Must be able to speak, understand, read and write in English and Spanish

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators.
