Line Attendant - Shift B

SUMMARY

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, this position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation & setup of extrusion lines.

MUST BE ABLE TO WORK 12 HOUR ROTATING CONTINENTAL SHIFTS

Rate of Pay: $22.35/hr

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Assists in starting up or shutting down an extrusion line in a safe and efficient manner.
• Must have the ability to run one extrusion line at a time.
• Assists in all set-ups of products and tooling using proper procedures.
• Assists with adjustments to the line to achieve maximum output while maintaining safety and quality.
• Completes operator shift report, operator stat up pre-check and shut-down check lists.
• Relieves packers for breaks without neglecting the lines.
• Helps packers with labeling, gluing, lifting and flipping of boxes whenever possible without neglecting the lines.
• Removes all drums of notches and nail slugs to the grinder.
• Removes any tooling from the line that is not in use to the designated area as per procedure.
• Participate in mid and year-end inventory count if required.
• Adjusts to new procedures & programs as required.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be able to work 12 hour Continental shift
• Must have completed Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment would be an asset.
• Experience with the extrusion or other plastic processes, an asset.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical functions.
• Must have strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
